8 months old

Gavin and Carter matching on New Year's Day! This the best shot of both boys I was able to get; pretty good if I say so myself.

Here is how Gavin makes Carter feel better when he is sad. "Come here lil buddy if you let me taste you, you will be happy. "
"It won't hurt a bit, just let me taste your cute lil fingers. I love you Carter I really do! We are gonna have the best times together."
"Well, if they won't let me chew on Carter then I will bite grandma's foot."
This smile looks sort of devilish...don't you think!
Watch out Gavin, Carter is growing healthy and strong! Soon he might catch up and be able to defend himself. Soon these boys will be running around and having great times together.

Best buddies
"Come here Gavin; let me get a hold of you!"

At 7 1/2 months Gavin weighed 19lbs. 5 ounces. He got his 2nd tooth on December 31st. He is ear infection free and BUSY. Gavin can pull himself to stand and walk holding on to fingers. He staggers and looks a bit tipsy but he is starting to get the idea. He can really move on his belly backwards and often tries to move quickly towards Carter when Grandma turns her back. Gavin holds himself in the crawl position and rocks back and forth and has begun to crawl backwards. I can tell when he does start crawling or walking it is going to be FAST. His lil feet never stop moving.

Gavin's vocabulary is increasing.... baba, nana, dada, mama, bana, etc...many combinations of these sounds. He is often VERY LOUD and finds himself to be quite funny. He has the sweetest most dear personality. He gives great big hugs and kisses (also pinches and bites).

Gavin enjoys playing with toys and getting around in this walker. Poor Oliver never knew how much his world would change. Gavin can chase Oliver and trap him in corners as Oliver is terrified of the walker and having his feet run over. This week he even discovered he could run Ollie's toys over and trap them. This caused Oliver to get really excited and run around and bark A LOT...causing Gavin to find himself hilarious and then this activity was repeated over and over!

Despite all of the torture Oliver does seem to really enjoy Gavin and continues to sneak in kisses. Part of their friendship is based on the fact that Gavin shares his food. He basically has the pincher grip figured out but occasionally food still hits the floor making Oliver a very happy four-legged friend. Gavin can feed himself cereal puffs, biter biscuits, peas and carrots.

Practicing the pincher grip and having a snack!Gavin's 1st experience with snow! Needless to say he wasn't that impressed.
Maybe someday he will get to go out and play in it.
First baby cookie! Gavin only gets these right before a bath!
