Gavin is officially 10 months old! He is one active boy! He loves to explore and try new things. I would say at this point there isn't much he hasn't tried to get into. Gavin can get down from a chair by turning over and sliding down onto his feet. He can point and YELL! He can shake his head no and wave bye-bye. Gavin can now stand by himself though he prefers to hold on. On Friday he walked behind his push toy...boy was daddy excited to spot that new skill. At Grandma and Papa's he enjoys hiding under the dining room table and peeking out from underneath the table cloth. Easter eggs are tons of fun and likes when there is something hidden inside. Gavin enjoys splashing in the tub and sending the water flying! He really dislikes having his diaper changed because that means laying down. Gavin works in the office with his papa and has even typed a few letters. Grandpa thinks he needs this own typewriter. Gavin knows to hold a phone by his ear and will cry if he can't take the call.
On Saturday Gavin and mommy went to Kraynak's and an Easter Egg hunt. Kraynaks was a blast; Gavin loved the music and lights. He walked through holding onto the fence and the stroller. We went very slow and took it all in (many families walked around us and commented that they missed that stage so much; I am truly enjoying this time with Gavin). Our only disappointment....the bunny only took cash or check and Gavin's mommy relies on a debit card...no picture!
But have no fear at the egg hunt there was a bunny...now it looked like a 12 year old girl but he doesn't know to be suspicious yet. The hunt was great and was sponsored by Daffin's. It was a chilly morning but when the fire truck rolled in with the bunny and sirens blaring Gavin lit right up. He wasn't scared at all and in fact yelled along with the siren and kept it up after. A few families around us were laughing at his siren. Gavin was in with children under 1. They each crawled or walked in the straw to claim their very own Easter bunny and chocolate treat for mommy or daddy. Gavin could have cared less about the toy, he liked the straw. Some of the candy started melting so mommy helped him chose one that wasn't melted. We met up with Great Grandma Bev, Great Aunt Judy, Michelle, Scott, Kayla and Monica. Monica was in with the 2-3 year olds and shared some eggs with Gavin (THANK YOU MONICA, LOVED MY EGGS). Afterwards Gavin and mommy got to spend some much needed time with his Great Grandparents. He showed them how busy he can be and what a big boy he is while he eats his lunch. He also showed them how to baby proof their house real quick. We ended our afternoon with them having lunch at Happy Days and were also joined by Gavin's 2nd cousin Mark. Mark shared all of his accomplishments about baseball and his upcoming trip with the team for training. Have a safe and fun trip Mark! We are so proud of you!
Gavin and I were surprised to find out that while we were away daddy, Uncle Kirk, Aunt Kami, Uncle Josh, and Carter helped move things into our new house. THAT'S RIGHT WE ARE LIVING IN OUR NEW HOME!!!! Gavin and I stopped in quick and checked it out, then we packed up again and headed to dinner with some of our friends...Kirk and Abbie and the Griffins and daddy of course. Caleb and Gavin had a ball at the RRRoadhouse. Lucky it was a loud resturant because the boys had a lot of catching up to do (loud)!! hahaha We went to Grandma and Papa's after and Gavin had a ton of fun chasing after Caleb and having a friend to play with. It was so neat to see Gavin playing and acting like a bog boy. Gavin gave some big kisses and even a few attacks. He has grown up and changed so quickly! Gavin had his 2nd sleep over with his grandparents. Grandma said he slept through the night and I slept about an hour...it is hard to sleep without my little boy near by.
Sunday morning Kevin and I got up and started moving right away. We made many trips back and forth between houses packing up and unpacking. Kirk, Josh, Kami, Carter, and my mom helped us out! We got so much accomplished and the house looks great! The house is so BIG that all of our things look small but it is so nice to have space. We worked from 7am-5pm and then I was dying to go and pick up Gavin. He of course had a wonderful time and greeted me with a big ol KISS.
We went home and daddy fed Gavin his dinner at his new home. We made dinner and ate as a family and it was such a special evening for us. Gavin explored and played for a while in his new home. He took his first bath and wore his bathrobe. He loves looking down the stairs much our dismay, since it is a little dangerous even with the baby gate. What a dare devil! He laughed and laughed looking down the stairs at Oliver. He played with toys in his room and we read a few stories. I played a cd which I hadn't really done for a long time with Gavin and he was very curious about all the buttons and where the noise was coming from. After moving the cd player out of sight we were able to enjoy the music without needed to beat on it and press buttons. Gavin and I snuggled and cuddled and truly treasured our first night. Daddy came up and we thanked him for the new room and whole house. How lucky are we to have such a talented man! We have made a lot of sacrifices for this new house, including time together. It will be so nice to be together as a family instead of each night missing Kevin while he works on the house. Now we can be there with him! It was clear to me that all of his hard work paid off seeing us in our glory. Thank you daddy for all that you have done and continue to do for us!
After Gavin was asleep and lying in his bed I was filled with emotion. I had waited to have a nursery for so long and sitting there taking it all in I found myself with tears of joy. Kevin and I have our home and after moving many times it my life it was a great feeling to realize that this is truly where I belong. Thank you Kevin for letting me plant my roots! It will take a long time to get completely unpacked and situated but we are in and don't need to move again; what an amazing feeling!
Welcome home Tharan family, welcome home!
