Merry Christmas!

The best holiday present Kevin and I got was the news that our baby is healthy and the exact same and size it should be for its age. The ultrasound woman told us we had "the perfect Gerber baby"! While the movements I feel are very subtle, our baby sure can move. They had such a difficult time getting photos of the hands and feet because they would always be gone when they went to freeze the frame. We had a student and an ultrsound specialist helping and they both thought that once the baby is bigger I was going to be feeling some WILD kicks. I hope that you aren't too disappointed but Kev and I stayed strong and didn't cave when they asked if we wanted to know if it was a boy or girl. I was secretly wishing Kevin would that way I could blame him for finding out, but the truth is I wanted to know. Well, unlike Christmas presents that you can shake or peek or nag until someone gives in and tells you, since we chose not to know even the doctors don't get told. Here are some pictures below of the baby, some are easier to see what they are then others. Enjoy and Happy Holidays!

House Update: Yesterday, the same day as the ultrsound, Kevin and his friends and family cemented the basement floor. Now because of everyone's help we are ready to build upward. Pictures will be forthcoming, but the weather is awful! We now have 3 seperate rooms in the basement. Kirk says the one is going to be a movie theatre, I guess we can all dream. Hopefully, someday when the rest of the house is finished we will have more spare bedrooms for guests, bathroom, family room, etc. For now it will be just a basement!! Thanks for giving up your Tuesday: Uncle Clif, Cliffie, Dean, Shane, Bryan, Kris, Kirk, and Dad! Thanks also to Bob and Shawn who helped for 2 days getting everything ready to pour. Kevin and I appreciate all of your help and friendship more than we can express!

5 months

Today marks the start of the 5th month!! Time is actually going pretty fast and exciting changes are constantly taking place. This morning while pouting about having to get up I lie in bed extra long and began to feel movement. I noticed the baby moving all morning at work and it bright a smile to my face everytime. I just hope that I am able to share that exciting feeling soon with Kevin, I know he will be thrilled the first time. Next Tuesday we get to have another ultrasound. Just so you know we do not plan to find out what we are having so we hope you like surprises as much as we do (well at least me....I think Kev would like to find out but we can always find out with baby #2). I am horrible at keeping secrets and this is one secret that can be kept from me! This is one present I can't peak at early or shake to detect what it might be! We'll see if I really make it to the end of the pregnancy without breaking down and asking the doctor to tell me. Wish us luck!

The house is progressing nicely despite the winter weather! The driveway has been dug and the foundation continues to be worked on. This week Kevin, Kirk, Bob, Wayne, and Chris all worked on more of the driveway and support walls in the foundation. Thanks to all who helped!

Hunting

Over Thanksgiving weekend Mark, our cousin ,came to stay and go hunting. While the weather was cold the guys seemed to stay warm and enjoy their time in the woods. (Don't forget Mark you are welcome back anytime!)

We have basement walls!

Crane setting the walls

And the snow blew!

Well, thanks to some wonderful family and friends the hole for the basement was dug in time for Superior Walls. Working in terribly cold conditions Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday Uncle Les, Chris, Wayne, Dad, Kirk, and Kevin got the hole dug. Thank you all for your hard work and love! Now building the house begins!

My belly at the start of the 4th month!

I can't believe I am posting this! Enjoy! :)

Our land!

Well, while we haven't had much to add new about the baby, we do have some exciting news! Today we found out that we had the go ahead and that the basement would be put in on Friday. So as a result the hole for the basement had to be dug. Kevin, Kirk, and Dad got straight to work in the freezing cold evening weather. While Kevin and crew will be beginning to build our new home I am continuing to take it easy and "build a baby". I am now in my 4th month and my belly cannot be hidden any longer.

Only two short weeks later and baby Tharan has grown and developed so much! Now we can see arms, legs, fingers, toes, and even ears! What an awesome moment when I realized that the baby could move around! It was very cute because "Footloose" was playing in the ultrasound room and baby Tharan was dancing all around. The next appointment isn't for a month and I don't have an ultrasound scheduled, so by the time I have one again I can't even imagine how much the baby will change. Thanks for all the hopes and prayers!

Today we had our first ultrasound! I know the picture sort of resembles a shrimp, but we were still thrilled to see the baby! We were able to hear the heart beat and boy was it amazing.
