About a month to go!

Yesterday, March 8th, Kevin and I went for an ultrasound to see our little baby. The tech checked measurements and currently our baby is measuring 5lb 13oz...this can be off about a 1/2 pound in either direction. Either way Dr. McGrail calculates that we will have another BIG baby. Gavin was 8lb 8oz and 23 1/2 inches long. Doc thinks this one will be the same or maybe a bit bigger. From here to the end the baby will gain about a pound per week. Yikes...we still have 4 weeks to go! Healthy and happy is all I hope for but also under 10 pounds would be SUPER.

After size she switched to the 3D camera. Kevin and I were blown away how much the baby's profile looked like Gavin did as an infant. It was identical....breathtaking! When she showed the baby's front view they looked similar but not exact. I will be so excited to see how much they resemble each other.

We still stayed strong and do not know if we will have a girl or boy. I know this is killing some of you waiting to find out but please know it is also driving us crazy. We will be thrilled for the big reveal! Kevin is really leaning towards girl and I would say that I agree because so many parts of pregnancy are so very different than with Gavin. I guess we have a 50/50 shot and will just have to wait and see. Kevin and I will be wonderfully happy either way! Seeing that adorable face with chubby cheeks, tiny hands, and perfect toes just makes it all seem so real. I can't wait to fall in love all over again with our beautiful child.

Playing dress up

Gavin loves to get dressed....in clothes that aren't his! We have had some very funny moments with Gavin's fashion choices recently. Each morning when he wakes up he selects a hat off his hat rack before we ever even know he is up. One morning he had a hat with antlers, boy was Kevin amused to find a 6 point waiting for him at the baby gate. He often chooses a Steelers, Pirates or Penguins hat. Gavin also enjoys wearing anyone's shoes. He likes BIG shoes. He also has a pair of too big for him fireman boots that he often selects. This past Saturday after a few cartoons he disappeared. I found him in the coat closet putting on his boots. See below!

Winter fun

We sure are ready for Spring at the Tharan house, but while we wait we have been trying a lot of big boy activities. Gavin has been mastering all kinds of new skills. He has tried coloring with markers, building snow men, riding 4 wheeler in the snow, climbing, puzzles, building tents, riding on blankets pulled on slippery floors, playing ball, counting (pointing to each object), going up and DOWN stairs, etc. Here are some shots of his first experience with markers:
